Prakriti ’16 – A Green Club GCT initiative

.“Clean-Clear-Cultivate” With this theme in mind, a cause to promote and a difference to make, Prakriti, the 2-day national level intercollegiate meet was organized and managed by the Green Club on March 16-17.

Prakriti’16 started off with a motivational speech by the honorary chief guest Dr.H.N.Chanakya (Chief Research Scientist, IISC) under the esteemed presence of Principal Dr.Laxmi Prabha, Green Club in-charge Mrs.Jayanthi and other faculty members, who with their constant support and guidance, made Prakriti come to life.

With the view of making the world a better place, a workshop on “New innovations for a sustainable village” was organized. It was attended by hundreds of enthusiastic students from

   *Park college

*Sri Krishna College of Engineering and Technology

*VSB

*Kongu Engineering College

*Kumaraguru College Of Technology

*Karunya University

*SNS college of technology

*Hindustan College of engineering and technology

*And many other colleges in and around Coimbatore.

A series of events such as MUN, Tribal Fun, Treasure hunt, paper presentation, picture presentation, Dexter’s laboratory, Short play, Campus tycoon, painting competition, etc. were conducted which tested the reasoning ability of the participants. The prizes and the participation certificates were given to everyone.

Green Club has been putting in constant effort to make a difference, in the past few months handful of activities were carried out in GCT campus such as:

    *Green farm near hostel office

*Dustbin for classes

*Recycling the waste paper used in college functions.

Not only has the event left a huge positive impact on people but also taught them the importance of creating a peaceful green environment that is free of dust, pollution and pollutants.

It is rightly said “A person who cares about the earth will resonate with its purify” with this message Student Journalist Council salutes the efforts of Green Club and congratulates them on the grand success of Prakriti’16.
