Brainstrain ’16 – An overview

Going back to school days’ memories is an awesome experience. Interacting with school kids and spending a day with them to bring out their latent potential takes it to the next level.

The Literary and Debating Society organized the annual interschool fest, Brainstrain, bringing together various schools on a platform for literary battle. The event saw a good response and the school children participated with bubbling enthusiasm. The events were made attractive for the school goers and made them compete for glory. Every year Brainstrain revolves around a theme, and this year’s theme- Pokémon, was the eye catcher for kids. The chief guest for the event was Mrs. Amutha Kannan, an ex- correspondent of The Hindu known for her renowned articles.

The events conducted were Shipwreck, JAM, Debate, Treasure Hunt, Creative Writing and the title event- Mr. and Ms. Brainstrain. There were also filler events to entertain during breaks and refreshment stalls for the appetite. The title “Mr. Brainstrain” was won by Logeshwar from SBOA and “Ms. Brainstrain” was given to Vaishnavi, a student of sixth class from Bharathi Matriculation Higher Secondary School.  The winners went home with school bags as prizes and the runners were given headphones. On the whole, the event was a grand success.
