Conference on Youth & Economy – By Spark youth group

Spark Youth Group, who had celebrated the 50th anniversary of ISKCON, held the ‘Youth & Economy’ conference at the Alumni Auditorium, GCT on 23rd August, 2016. This conference revolved around the theme of CULTURALLY ENGINEERED ECONOMIES. The Principal of GCT Dr. Satyabama, Bhakthi Vinodha Swamiji, Mr. Venugopal (GE, Bangalore), Mr. Raghav Unni (S&T Global), and Mr. Varun Chand Bandlamudi (HP Bangalore) were present at the conference. Third and final year students from various streams of GCT attended the conference.

It all began at 10.00 AM with the prayer song and lighting of the lamp. Principal Dr. Satyabama addressed the Swamiji and the guest speakers. She started off with a brief history of GCT and went on to advise the students to gain their best out of the conference. Next to her Bhakthi Vinodha Swamiji presented the key address and discussed with students about ‘Yoga of business’. He also gave his detailed view on topics like capitalism, communism and spirituality.

Following Swamiji, Mr. Venugopal presented his view on the economy of our nation. He differentiated external and internal needs of a human. He speech motivated the students in a friendly way. In his speech, he also insisted every young budding engineers not to forget their personal life in the race of pursuing their career. Next came, Mr. Raghav Unni who was very brief and clear in his view. He amused the listeners with his amazing comparison of our culture in the past and our present and the way he evolved his economic ideas for the development of a person both economically and personally.

Mr. Varun Chand, who was the last speaker of the conference had gained the listener’s applause not only for his talk but also for his socially well-being spirit which was reflected in his speech. He encouraged all the listeners to take an oath that they would not waste food, money and time.

After his speech the students were also given a chance to clear their doubts to the speakers. The conference ended successfully with the vote of thanks by a Spark group volunteer.
