A Short insight on the first day of Muthamizh Vizha -16

Mother oh mother!

We learn you!

We breathe you!

We enjoy you!

We dwell in your elegance!

We never forget to reciprocate what you had given us!

And yes, dear tamil mother;

You are the path of prosperity!

You are the path of glory!

You are the path of infinite happiness!

Our bliss begins and ends in you!

You entertain us!

You enlighten us!

And this day- 19th august 2016 ; it is our chance to spread the boundless glory you had bestowed on us!

The “MUTHAMIZH VIZHA 2016”, the pride of GCT, had a glorious first day. The college vibrated with dazzling colors since 7 am, complimenting the shine of the sun’s rays. Garlands hung, posters stuck and of course the eye catching shades and lines of rangoli. As the clock closed to 9 students and participants from various colleges stepped into GCT. The awe in their face on sight of the OVAL was crystal clear. Slowly the registration desk saw its crowd. And finally the college auditorium was filled with the applause of the audience.

The first event to take place was the “PATTIMANDRAM” with Mr.T.K. Subramanium, television fame public speaker, as the judge.”Who plays the vital role in the social development? Is it men? or is it women?” was the topic rendered. To support the “women”  team we had a panel of four gems:Prof.Ms.Ravindra Devi Revathy, Ms.Thogail mayil – student(GCT), Mr.Vineesh- student(GCT), Mr.Ajith Ram- student(GCT). And the “Men” team had a group of four brilliant speakers:Prof. Mr.kumar, Ms.Shwetha- student(GCT), Ms.Guha priya- student(GCT), Mr.Karikalan- student(GCT)

We could never witness such an overwhelming speech that filled both our hearts and ears elsewhere! Each and every speaker put in their heart and soul and came up with the best ever debate. Professionalism was splashed in their speeches. The eminent speakers of GCT unveiled the true spirit of the power of the mother tongue and set a benchmark for the next generation to follow. Finally, the verdict favored women and the entire audience left the place with utmost joy and content.

In the afternoon, the series of Orchestra and Mime events took place. The enthusiastic finalists of various events were given the stage to exhibit their talents. The brilliant singers from various colleges competed with their peers and the final results were later announced. The next were the incredible mime performances, mono act which were a  perfect treat for the viewers.

The fantabulous contribution of the students from various colleges both in and outside the city made us immensely proud. We not only enjoyed their act but also rejoiced being a GCTian at that moment!

The great occasion ended up smoothly after all the performances were over.

And yeah! The first day of  MUTHAMIZH VIZHA ’16  was another arrow that pierced the previous great achievements on the record and we eagerly look forward for  the second day that has street play, host orchestra performances, various folk dances and still more.

We also invite everyone to attend the ceremony and taste the nectar of the muthamizh!

Thus, the prologue of the MUTHAMIZH VIZHA ’16 was tremendously good both to watch and to hear! It was all possible only because of you, dear tamil mother!

‘twas a wreath of joy!

‘twas a wreath of gaiety!

‘twas a wreath of exuberance!

‘twas a wreath of merriment!

You wreathed the iyal, isai, nadagam !

We bow at your feet!

Thank you!
