Tamil Mandram – Making GCT proud

“Not just want but desire and rage filled the hearts until it escaped out to blossom”.

This one line sure describes every present member of the GCT’s oldest club, Tamil Mandram. Pushing aside the saying “participation is more important than winning” each heart pumped to earn an award. At the end of the day, it paid off by becoming the first ever team in GCT to participate and bag the prize in IIT Saarang’s ‘Therukoothu’.

With a team of 11 well chosen actors from second and third years, the act revolved around a theme called “Intolerance” that included to show light on beef intolerance, religious intolerance and so. A sensitive topic which voiced out to touch every soul in the gathering and fill the air with claps. Credits not just go to well thought out theme but to the effort and hard work invested.  Ahead of the competition, the team practised all day giving no adherence to day and night. The victory could not be tagged as beginner’s luck considering the heavy competition from biggies like NIT, CEG, SASTRA etc. Mr. Sakthi Pradeep, (Final year, IBT) the guide of the winning team made sure the team went through rigorous training. He agrees to have had second thoughts as second years did not meet his expectation during the rehearsal but none the less proved their worth.

Tamil Mandram’s excellence is not just restricted to one college. In KCT the prizes fell into the bag with a wave of the wand. The members won in almost all the events they participated in. To name a few

Eeradiyumindrayavaazhvum– First place won by Vineesh.

Kavithai – Second place won by Ajaya.
